Jimmy C. Young (09/01/1951 05/12/09) Life Sketch Jimmy C. Young was born September 1, 1951 in Singapore. He was the oldest of four children: Shirley, John, and Onie. As a youth he enjoyed playing basketball, badminton, snooker, and rode a motorcycle. In the hawker centers he found his first love, food. Jim attended school at Southeast Asia Union College (SAUC), where he began to court a young Telly Khu. In addition he developed many lifelong friendships that continue to this day. Their four year courtship progressed and culminated in their engagement while attending Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, TN. After obtaining their nursing degrees the two wed on December 22, 1977 and continued their journey with Jesus. Their honeymoon consisted of a joint cross-country road trip with friends William, Terence, and Elaine. The newlyweds soon found jobs and moved to the mile-high city, Denver, CO. In 1981, they had their first child, and named him Royce. Tired of shoveling snow, the couple found jobs at Glendale Adventist Medical Center in California. They liked the sun enough to make Glendale their home permanently. In December of 1984, their second child, Travis, was born.
